The Resurrection is Now

Anyone who glanced at this blog already knows or at least should know that Saul of Tarsus was a false prophet and the sower of the tares.

So here we have the false prophet in 2Tim 2:18 saying this

18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

What is actually said here in the Greek is that the ‘Resurrection is NOW’ which Paul claims is error and not of the truth.  How would he know?  Seeing as how the truth was not in him.  He also says that this doctrine of imminent resurrection overthrows the faith of some.  Of course Paul is referring to those that hold to his doctrine of lawlessness and that the doctrine of imminent resurrection or ‘resurrection now’ was overthrowing his ‘gospel’ which Paul calls the ‘faith.’
So did the Apostles of Yahshua, i.e the Twelve, teach that the resurrection was now?  Yes in fact they did.  They knew that it is the Word of God that is actually resurrected within you.      Yahshua as the Word of YHVH said ‘I AM the resurrection and the Life.’  He also said that if we love Him and obey His commandments that He would manifest Himself to us.’  He also said that where I AM you may be also.’ That the Word will rise within us  was called the ‘First Resurrection.’  Which makes complete sense, seeing as how Adam and Eve first died within before their bodies gave out.
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with (IN) ten thousands of his saints,
‘Cometh with’ should have been translated as ‘Cometh IN.’  The word ‘Cometh’ is in the present tense, not past, not future, but present.  This means that this is in the now.  YHVH cometh now in ten thousands of His Saints or at least He did in Apostolic days.
We have assumed that men like James were off the mark when they said things like James 5:8 ‘…for the coming of YHVH draweth nigh.’  Today everyone is of the opinion that poor James just messed up and thought YHVH’s coming was near.  But alas he was off by at least 2000 years.  Or so the preacher tells us.
Consider this, it wasn’t James or the other Apostles that were mistaken about this, but that we have been mistaken.  Yahshua also said ‘repent for the Kingdom of YHVH is at hand,’  Was He mistaken too?  Or is it us.  Same phraseology as in James 5:8.  We have been mistaken about this because we just did not understand what was written, our understanding having been darkened by lies.  In short our gross ignorance blinded us.
Pushing the first resurrection and or the coming of YHVH to some indistinct future time comes from Paul the false prophet.
The reason why these events have not happened to Christianity is simply because they have forsaken the Law of YHVH and the Prophets.
Even as Hosea said in 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Christianity will continue to wait forever for these extraordinary events to occur in their lives. While those that have the Word of Truth sown in them and do and keep His Law and Commandments can have the first resurrection NOW.
So to those who qualify you might be asking yourself ‘Why hasn’t this happened to me yet?
Simple answer:  You have not, because you ask not.
2Ch 6:41 Now therefore arise, O YHVH, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.

  • Hello 🙂
You forgot John 6.40 and 44
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    at the LAST DAY

Take also a look at Matt 22/ 28.30

There is 2 (kind ) of resurrections
John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

    the 1st : For the saved :
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

And the 2nd is when the “unsaved” are woke up …for the judgement.

Yes Yeshua IS the resurection.. at His second coming He will speak and some in their grave will wake up , for the rest it will be later. (Daniel spoke about that too)

‘repent for the Kingdom of YHVH is at hand,”

    It’s a question of relativity…
If you look from a historic view …2000 years (not really “at hand”)
If you look from a human view .. the time of our life. and we don’t know the day we will die (or fall asleep) so i find it’s really ” at hand”

Have a nice day or night
    :-))

    • Well thank you for that:
In the matter of the ‘Kingdom is at hand’ have you ever checked out the definition of ‘Kingdom’ the word was a serious mistranslation. It should have read ‘The reign of God is at hand. So when Yahshua speaks of the kingdom being within, he is speaking of the Word of God reigning within. Which was and is very true and yes it was and is at hand and not at some indistinct future time. I know a lot of folks are waiting indefinitely for a physical manifestation of ‘the kingdom’ but they won’t see it or experience if first they do not have it within. There are so many extraordinary things that we as people have never experienced, simply because we have not taken Yahshua at His Word, but have allowed untold amounts of leaven to suffuse us.
      Thanks again for comments

  • Hi Noel
When we realize that it was and is the Word of God that is the resurrection, then things become a little more clear. We tend to see the image of the man that spoke those words and fail to apprehend who it really was and is. So also remember that it was the Word of YHVH that said He is the Bridegroom. So in essence that would make the soul or the heart the bride. ‘And the two shall become one flesh.’
In Jn 1 where he says ‘The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…’
The translators took a Greek tense that is NOT subject to time, it is the ‘Aorist tense’ anyway they always translated it in the past tense, mainly because as you have noted there is the eternal present, but also because they simply did not understand what was being said by John and for the most part still do not understand. So that passage is far more accurately rendered ‘And the Word becomes flesh and dwells within us.’
But to answer your question yes ‘I Am is eternal present.
I believe the resurrection is actually in two parts, first the inner then the outer, but the inner must be obtained before one can truly qualify for the outer. There is a blending, a merging as we become one with Him and the Father. It’s a process.

  • I have thought many times that the phrase “I AM” uttered by Jesus simply means “the present moment.” When people asked Jesus about the resurrection of Lazarus, He said “I AM the resurrection.” Did he mean that the resurrection was already in the present moment? Not something that will happen in the future? And when I say resurrection, I mean the resurrection of the soul from the sinful and selfish nature of humans, to the selfless supernatural nature that only God can give us. Also, when Moses asked God who He was, God said “I AM that I AM.”. did God mean that He is the eternal present? Is this something you have thought of as well…?
