Tithing in the New Covenant

Contrary to popular opinion and of course unlimited income streams for the recipient, tithing in the New Covenant has not one thing to do with ‘Money.’  It never has.  The tithe that YHVH desires from His people is their time.  Time spent sitting at His feet, learning of HIM.  Time spent with your Maker giving of your substance which is yourself.

Even if the truth were known which it rarely is, Old Covenant tithe was this:  one third went to the poor, one third was to storing of seed and one third went to the Levites.

Every preachers favorite income generating passage is of course Malachi 3:8-12:

King James Version:

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

⁹ Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

¹⁰ Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

¹¹ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

¹² And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

However try this on for size, ask, how do you apply this to the inner man?  Imagine that, YHVH is asking His people to spend their time, their substance with HIM.  And if they will He will pour Himself into them so much so that they will not be able contain anymore lest they burst, His presence will overflow from you upon everyone within your sphere.  And this is not just a onetime thing, it is a constant thing.  This is what David meant when he said, ‘My Cup overflows.’

Remember folks, if you truly belong to Him then your are His house.  If you are faithful with this tithe, you won’t have to tell and convince others that you are blessed, they’ll know.

Yahshua said, ‘If you love Me keep my Commandments and I will come and manifest myself to you.’  This also is not a onetime thing, it is also very constant.  He will continually visit you until such a time that His House is built.  Then He will make His home with you, it won’t be visits here and there but the eternal abiding.  It will be ‘that where I AM you will be also.’

Now then can you understand why ‘YHVH loves a cheerful giver’?

It’s from this place that He will teach you His Laws and His Commandments.’  It’s from this place that wisdom will be sweet to your soul and you will crave it more and more along with understanding and knowledge.   Personally I always did far better learning from a personal tutor that I did in a classroom.  And this is no different.  No man can teach you the Law of YHVH and no man has the ability or the power to write it or embed upon your inner man.  As John said in 1John 2:27

²⁷ But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

So now then, we should all be running to the secret place of the Most High, because the secret place of the Most High is within YOU.  Before long you will be able to say, ‘I have come from the bosom of the Father.’  Why?  Because it will be true.  You will numbered among those of whom it is written ‘No guile was found in them.’

It’s in this place that YHVH will give you the desires of your heart.  And this works both ways, first He will implant His desires within you, then those desires will become your desires.  And when the desire comes into manifestation it will a ‘Tree of Life.’  Well guess what folks, the Tree of Life is still in the Paradise of YHVH.  You will be too, as again Yahshua said ‘That where I AM you will be also.’

All this from simply giving to YHVH His true Tithes.
